* TELLS THEM TO “COME OUT OF MOURNING OVER CCL CLEARANCE”
Chandigarh, April 21: In a rare instance of his losing cool with the “brazenly anti-Punjab and anti-farmer opportunism and politicking of opposition leaders”, the Punjab Chief Minister Mr. Parkash Singh Badal today asked the Congress and the AAP to put a brake on their “vulture mentality against Punjab farmers” and stop praying for death and destruction only so that they could get an opportunity to exploit it. “Please stop playing politics of death in Punjab. I beg this of you,” said Mr. Badal.
The Chief Minister asked the Cong-AAP leaders to stop ‘mourning’ the release of Cash Credit Limit (CCL) for payment to the farmers for their wheat procured by government agencies.”
The Cong and AAP were celebrating the farmers’ woes over confusion about release of money for payment for the wheat procured. These parties are so desperate for power in Punjab that just in order to show the government in poor light, they went to the extent of organizing Havans to pray for non-clearance of money for farmers. They cruelly mocked the anxiety of farmers and the farmers’ families,” said Mr. Badal, adding that these days, he went through ‘indescribable pain and anxiety’ over the delay in clearance of money meant for farmers.
“As a rural Punjabi and farmer, I know with what eagerness, every member of a farmer’s family, from children to parents, waits for the harvest season and how everything in the family depends on a good crop and timely payment. I could hardly sleep all these days, till the CCL was cleared. It was such a huge relief for every farmer and for me personally when it was finally done. But when the news of CCL clearance came, the faces of leaders of Congress and AAP fell. Their celebration of the farmers anxiety quickly turned into mourning,” said the Chief Minister.
The Chief Minister said that every farmer in the state was upset and angry over the Cong-AAP playing politics even on an issue of life and death for the peasantry.
Mr. Badal told the former CLP leader Mr. Sunil Jakhar, “I expected at least you, being a farmer, to distance yourself from this vulture-mentality. These vultures always pray for death and disease for the farmers’ beloved cows and buffaloes. It is another matter that their wishful but disastrous dreams of destruction for Punjabis in general and farmers in particular will never be fulfilled. But it is time they stopped prowling on Punjab’s well being, the happiness of its farmers and the glory of the state” said Mr. Badal.
