Malerkotla, The Punjab Deputy Chief Minister has announced that all villages of state would get 4G connectivity by end of this year and Punjab would be first state in country to accomplish this feat. He said that with help of high speed internet services, people of Punjab would benefit from scores of government services sitting at home which would put an end to their making rounds of offices. He said that 2016 would be devoted to development and pace of development would be further increased. Divulging more, he said that Punjab is marching rapidly on the road to progress and has become a power surplus state besides having a strong road network. He also informed that big names of corporate world have invested in Punjab.
Interacting with media persons after flagging off train from Malerkotla railway station to Dargah Ajmer Sharif, Deputy Chief Minister said that Punjab has scripted a unique success story of development placing it among frontline states. He further informed that state government has many achievements to its credit in police reforms and it has also begun process of making 1.20 lakh new recruitments thereby opening new job avenues for youth.
Disclosing facilities being provided by state government to various sections of society, S. Sukhbir Singh Badal said that Punjab is only state which has taken novel initiative of free insurance to poor farmers and traders. He said that state government under able leadership of Chief Minister, S. Parkash Singh Badal, has taken scores of people friendly measures for e.g. – Waiving of power bills of farmers, Increasing Old Age pension from Rs. 250 to Rs. 500, Atta-Dal scheme, Shagan Scheme, Accidental and health insurance for farmers and traders, Pension of Rs. 1000 to Sangharshi Yoddhas undergoing imprisonment during Emergency & Punjabi Suba morcha besides laying out a strong and well connected road network.
Describing Punjab a peaceful state, he said that sacred occasions of every religion are observed at State Level in Punjab. Disclosing more, he said that under Mukh Mantri Tirath Darshan Yatra Scheme, whereas earlier, trains and buses were flagged off to Takht Sri Hazoor Sahib, Varanasi and Salasar Dham, now train carrying 1004 devotees has been flagged off to Dargah Ajmer Sharif and such glorious traditions of harmony would continue.
The Deputy Chief Minister informed that a development of Rs. 63 crore has been released for carrying out development projects in malerkotla. Earlier, Rs. 200 crore were spent on development works in constituency. He announced that orders have been issued to all Deputy Commissioners to keep separate space for graveyards for muslims in every village and town. He also divulged that state government would release Rs. 25 crore separately for development of every constituency. Earlier, S. Sukhbir Singh Badal accepted greetings from people.
On the occasion, Rajya Sabha member S. Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa, Chief Parliamentary Secretary Farzana Alam and Sant Balbir Singh Ghunnas, MLA Iqbal Singh Jhundan and Gobind Singh Longowal, Former Minister Gobind Singh Kanjhla and Ikram Bagge Khan, Secretary Transport R. Venkatraman, Deputy Commissioner Arshdeep Singh Thind and SSP Pritpal Singh Thind were also present.
