AAP workers demand Chhotepur’s removal

pp2Amritsar/Tarn Taran, July 30
Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) workers in Tarn Taran burnt the effigy of their state convener Sucha Singh Chhotepur, demanding his early removal from the top post.
Meanwhile, Sanjay Singh, Punjab affairs in charge, AAP, today said the party’s organisational structure in the state would be announced by August 15.
Sanjay Singh, who had a brief stopover in Amritsar en route Dinanagar, declined to make any comment on the internal bickering in the party’s state unit.
In Tarn Taran, AAP workers threatened to intensify their protest if the party failed to concede to their demand. AAP leader Paramjit Jahangir led the protesters.
The party volunteers organised a rally at Gandhi Municipal Park in Tarn Taran. Addressing the rally, the party leaders alleged that Chhotepur was projecting himself as the next Chief Minister and was “rewarding” his old colleagues belonging to the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) and Congress where Chhotepur had enjoyed good positions.
The leaders also said that Chhotepur “lacks the caliber to run the party at this juncture when AAP had become popular among the masses in the state”.
