AAP will win Delhi, get over 45 seats : Arvind Kejriwal

New Delhi, The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has expressed confidence of winning the forthcoming assembly elections in Delhi and said that people of the state would vote on the basis of the good track record of the party’s 49-day-rule.

Addressing a press conference, party convener Arvind Kejriwal said that he is optimistic about victory in the polls.
We will go the people with the track record of our government’s 49-day rule. We had stopped corruption and price rise, people are saying that they want to convert those 49 days to five years…we will turn Delhi into India’s first corruption free state,” Kejriwal said.

“We will get more than 45 seats in the Delhi polls,” a confident Kejriwal added.

Other senior AAP leaders like Ashutosh and Manish Sisodia were also present at the press conference.
Interestingly, AAP leaders appear to have written off Congress’ chances completely and said that the polls are going to be a direct fight between AAP and BJP.

“BJP was delaying polls, they were trying to form government through dishonesty, their four attempts to form government had been foiled,” Kejriwal said.

“BJP has lost with the announcement of polls and Delhi has won; it was continuously trying to buy AAP MLAs using black money,” he said.

“We will win elections in Delhi no matter how hard the BJP tries,” he added.

The AAP also appeared keen to distance Prime Minister Narendra Modi from the electoral tussle and make it a battle between Kejirwal and Jagdish Mukhi of the BJP, saying Mukhi is the best that the saffron party can offer in Delhi.

The people of Delhi want a CM who will address their water and electricity woes, fight corruption, they said.
