CHANDIGARH : Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) today expressed shock and concerns over the burning of 10 beers of Shri Guru Granth Sahib in Gurudwara Baba Beer Singh (Naurangabad) at Bahak Fattu village near Makhi and demanded high level probe into the shocking incident.
State Convenor of AAP, Sucha Singh Chhotepur said although as per the prima- facie evidences it seems to be short circuit as a reason of fire, but keeping in mind the several incidents of sacrilege of Shri Guru Granth Sahib in the recent months, which ignited a state level agitations by Sikh organisations, it needed a high level probe to know whether there was any mischievous behind this fire.
Although, Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Badal had pledged to nab those, who were behind the incidents of sacrilege of Shri Guru Granth Sahib, but he failed to arrest even a single accused in such as shameful and inhuman acts, Chhotepur said adding everybody, who believes in Sikhism is hurt due to Akalis’ failure on this.
Chhotepur said that in spite of repeated incidents of sacrilege, SAD, which claim to be a ‘Panthic’ party failed to provide ample security to Gurudwaras, which resulted in anguish among Sikhs, who were forced to launch agitation and led to barbaric killing of two Sikh youth in police firing at Bargadi.
If Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal is not capable to stop sacrilege of Shri Guru Granth Sahib, he has no moral right to continue on his post and should immediately tender his resignation, Chhotepur demanded.
