Chandigarh, A joint delegation of ‘Safai Mazdoor Union’ of Punjab and ‘City Valmeki Sabha Jalandhar’ led by President Mr. Chandan Grewal and Mr. Nerash called on Punjab Chief Minister Mr. Parkash Singh Badal regarding the development of Sri Bhagwan Valmeki Ashram (Ram Tirath).
Disclosing this here today a spokesperson of the Chief Minister’s office said that Mr. Badal assured the delegation that the state government had fully geared up its entire machinery for establishing this Rs. 185 crore, Monument-cum-temple at Sri Bhagwan Valmeki Ashram (Ram Tirath) successfully in a time bound manner.
He further added that this prestigious project was reflective of the state government’s commitment to further strengthen the communal harmony and unity in the state and he was personally monitoring the entire project meticulously. The Chief Minister said that the upcoming temple at Sri Valmeki Ashram would prove to be a milestone in further cementing the bonds of communal harmony, brotherhood and peace thereby strengthening the secular fabric of the society.
The Chief Minister also felicitated the Valmeki Community for their support and cooperation in resolving various related issues amicably and assured that local administration would sort out rest of the issues pertaining to the Ashram. He also appealed to resolve all issues amicably for further strengthening love and communal harmony amongst different communities and sects in the state.
Underlying objective of the memorials, Mr. Badal said that to keep our future generations abreast with our rich historic and cultural heritage, only the memorials and monuments of these kinds could play a pro-active role otherwise it would be faded out with the passage of time.
Mr. Badal said that his government has already planned to showcase the rich legacy and glory of our past through erecting monuments like Jang-e-Azaadi at Kartarpur near Jalandhar, War Memorial at Amritsar and to propagate the philosophy of great Saint Guru Ravidass Ji in village Khuralgarh in Hoshiarpur district, besides a state-of-the art monument in the memory of Baba Jiwan Singh fondly remembered as Bhai Jaita at Sri Anandpur Sahib.
Expressing solidarity in a touching gesture with the members of the delegation of Valmeki community, Mr. Badal said that as a humble servant ever in the service of the people of the state, he himself had always drawn inspiration from the teachings of Bhagwan Valmeki Ji and to serve the people with all humility besides disseminating the message of love, peace and harmony to ensure justice and equity in the society.
Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Mr. SK Sandhu and ADGP Intelligence Mr. Hardeep Singh Dhillon were also present in the meeting besides other members of the delegation including Mr. Amrit Khosla, Mr. Raj Kumar Raju, Mr. Pawan Baba, Mr. Rajesh Bhatti, Mr. Sunil Dutt Bobby, Mr. Dipak Kumar and others.
