Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa raises paucity of urea issue in Rajya Sabha

Sukhdev_Singh_Dhindsa_300Chandigarh,  The Secretary General of Shiromani Akali Dal and member, Rajya Sabha Mr.Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa today forcefully raised the issue of paucity of urea during the rabi season. He said that Chief Minister, Punjab, Mr.Parkash Singh Badal has also conveyed his concerns through a letter that the farmers of the  state haven’t got urea despite the end of sowing. Mr. Dhindsa also said that this demand should have been fulfilled until November 30 but still the state hasn’t got 1.50 lakh tonnes of urea due to which rabi season crop can be adversely affected.

Mr. Dhindsa while addressing the concerned central minister said that the Punjab Government had already sent it’s demand of 672500 metric tonnes of urea, which should have been fulfilled by 30 november. Expressing deep concern, Mr. Dhindsa said that sowing of wheat will be over in a few days and and if demand regarding urea is not met then it could have a destructive impact on crops which inturn could negatively affect central pool in which Punjab makes more than 1/3rdcontribution.
