Sirhind-Patiala road is such an important road which links Patiala to entire Doaba and Majha region including the States of Himachal Pradesh and J &K. This road is so badly rundown that it’s nothing less than a physical and mental torture to travel on this bumpy and so-called ‘plan roads’. Whosoever take this route to travel feels agonized and essentially curse the Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh for not even bothering about this major link road that connects his hometown and his constituency . The agony is that Chief Minister always travels by helicopter therefore he has no experience of the sufferings of the general public who endure torture everyday by traveling on this road. My enquiries from the department of PWD (Buildings and Roads) reveals that the premixed carpeting of this road was undertaken eight years back and I was furthermore shocked to learn that this important road is not even a State Highway till date. It’s practically being treated as district plan road for the purposes of repair and other works.
If Chief Minister has no time for his constituency he should at least depute his Minister of State for PWD (B & R) Mrs. Razia Sultana to inspect this road along with the top officials of the department in order to undertake its immediate repairs; if not premix carpeting. Its hell to travel on this road, because the traffic flow on this road is bumper to bumper, most of the time, throughout the day, more over its bumpiness makes the travelers to shed tears sometime. Many precious lives have been lost on this road, accidents occurs regularly with no intervals. I would urge the Chief Minister to wake up out of year long stillness and begin to deliver a bit tangible on the surface, before the public is compelled to take direct recourse to break the stationary status of the present government for the redress of their most genuine grievances.
