Chandigarh, February 15 : The Punjab and Haryana High Court today fixed April 17 as the next date after granting stay on the earlier order of January 15 quashing appointment of Suresh Kumar as the Chief Principal Secretary to the Punjab Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh.
A retired bureaucrat, Suresh Kumar had been re-employed in the rank of the cabinet secretary.
The full bench issued notice to all the parties concerned for April 17.
Former union minister and senior advocate P Chidambaram appeared for the Punjab government that had filed the appeal against January 15 order.
Capt Amarinder Singh visited Suresh Kumar twice during these recent days to persuade him to return after getting necessary clearances. However, he has been reluctant.
It may be mentioned that he had become victim of power struggle with the coterie of Capt Amarinder Singh.
