Chandigarh, Dilip Jha, who claims himself to be the son of Ashutosh Maharaj has challenged single bench ruling before a division bench of the Punjab and Haryana High Court pleading for DNA test to prove his claim of being his son. He argued that it was the DNA test which proved the paternity of the son of N D Tiwari. Ashutosh Maharaj should also be subjected to DNA test.
He pleaded that being the son, it was not only his right but also the duty to perform last rites of his father Ashutosh Maharaj.
It may be mentioned that the High Court had directed the Punjab government to perform last rites of Ashutosh Maharaj by December 15. Jha challenged this ruling saying the government could cremate only an unclaimed body.
