Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh on Monday expressed grief over the demise of PPCC vice president and former Member Parliament Satnam Singh Kainth (57), who passed away at a private hospital in Mohali yesterday after a prolonged illness. He is survived by his wife and two sons.
In a condolence message, the Chief Minister recalled the immense contribution of Mr. Kainth in Punjab politics, especially for championing the cause of downtrodden sections of the society. He always pro-actively worked to uplift the lives of the poor, needy and disadvantaged.
Sharing heartfelt sympathies with the bereaved family members, friends and relatives, the Chief Minister prayed to the Almighty to give courage to them to the bear this loss and grant eternal peace to the departed soul.
Pertinently, Mr. Kainth also served as the Leader of Opposition in Punjab Vidhan Sabha in 1992-97 and was also elected a Member Parliament from Phillaur Lok Sabha constituency in 1998.
