* Pays floral tributes to Bharat Ratan Dr. B.R. Ambedkar on his 58th Pre Nirvan Divas

Chandigarh/Ludhiana, Punjab Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Sukhbir Singh Badal today announced that strict action besides registration of criminal cases would be adopted against those, who posts or uploads derogatory remarks or distorted material against religious personalities under the provisions of IT Act and Cyber laws.
Mr. Badal, who is also the Home Minister of the state, said posting of objectionable material and distorted pictures about any religion or religious personalities on social networking websites would not be tolerated at any cost and the wrongdoers would be dealt strictly. He said he has directed DGP Punjab to ensure implementation directions at ground while Commissioners of Police and SSPs would take instant action in such cases.
He stated this here after paying floral tribute to father of Indian Constitution Bharat Ratan Dr. B.R. Ambedkar to mark his 58th Pre Nirvan Divas (death anniversary) during a state level function here at Guru Nanak Bhawan
In his address, Mr. Badal said SAD-BJP government is committed for the all round development and welfare of deprived classes as envisioned by Baba Saheb Dr. Ambedkar. He said Punjab CM Mr. Parkash Singh Badal was contemplating to setup a world class educational institute dedicated to Dr. Ambedkar. The Deputy CM also announced that the construction work for Dr. B.R. Ambedkar’s memorial on Ludhiana-Delhi National Highway has begun and it would witness state-of-the-art ambience along with a statue of Baba Saheb.
Asking to work in education sector, a mission of Dr. Ambedkar, Mr. Badal also gave a call to leaders of SC community to dispense awareness amongst masses regarding Ashirwad, SC scholarship and other educational schemes for needy students so they could make their future bright by securing free of cost higher education. He said more than 9 lakh students have got advantage from these schemes in last year as government was sanctioned Rs. 500 crore for this purpose. Mr. Badal also informed the jam-packed Guru Nanak Bhawan that Punjab Government has enhanced the proposed budget of Rs. 150 crore for building up famous Bhagwan Valmiki Shrine at Amritsar Ram Tirath to Rs. 250 crore.
Meanwhile meeting a high level delegation of industrialists and traders, Mr. Badal patiently heard their grievances and issues pertaining to Punjab government. Mr. Badal asked the delegation to submit their detailed and complete charter of demands by December 10 to him. He said all the issues would be sorted out within 10 days besides making trading and business further easier in the state. He said Punjab has become the first state to abolish archaic ‘inspector raaj’ by launching traders/investors friendly schemes.
Describing his plan to develop Ludhiana one of the most developed city in the country, Mr. Badal said Rs. 2500 crore has been set aside to provide complete cover of sewerage, potable waters, well constructed roads and internal streets. He said in next two years Ludhiana would witness massive transformation with complete facelift of city.
Mr. Ashwani Sahota, National Supreme Director of Bhartiya Valmiki Dharam Samaj, Mr. Vijay Manav, National Director, Mr. Raj Kumar Sahota, National Propaganda Secretary, Mr. Shiv Soni, National Advisor along with other office bearers handed over a charter of demands to Deputy CM. Mr. Badal also released a calendar and booklet presented by BHAVADAS office bearers.
Meanwhile Deputy CM also presided over Pre Nirvan Divas of Dr. Ambedkar at Domoria Pul organised by Mr. Vijay Danav, President Punjab Dalit Vikas Board and Mr. Laxman Dravid.
He also visited the residence of Mr. Madan Lal Bagga, District President Shiromani Akali Dal. Prominent amongst those accompanied Mr. Badal included Mr. Sharanjit Singh Dhillon, Irrigation Minister, Mr. Manpreet Singh Ayali, Mr. Ranjit Singh Dhillon, both MLAs, Mr. Maheshinder Singh Grewal, Advisor to CM, Mr. H.S. Gohalwaria, Mayor, Former MP Mr. Amrik Singh Aliwal etc.
