Mumbai, January 4
BCCI’s Anti-Corruption and Security Unit (ACSU) chief Neeraj Kumar will be given an extension, the Committee of Administrators (CoA) head Vinod Rai said today. “…it will happen, an order will be issued in due course,” Rai said.
On December 23, BCCI had extended the services of Ratnakar Shetty, BCCI’s general manager (Game Development), till March 31. Asked whether Kumar’s extension will be on the lines of that of Shetty, Rai noted, “It (the extension) will come, we have to discuss and finalise.” Rai said no major decisions were taken by the CoA in the meeting today. He also said that “work was in progress” with regard to the remuneration for the players, but did not share any details.
You people cover cricket or 2G: Rai asks scribes
Rai, who is the former Comptroller and Auditor General of India, refused to comment on the court verdict on the acquittal of 17 people in the 2G spectrum scam. When a reporter sought for his comments on the 2G case, Rai quipped: “Aap log cricket handle karte ho ya 2G handle karte ho (Do you guys cover cricket or 2G?).” Rai has so far not commented on the issue on any forum.
