New Delhi/Amritsar, Health Minister Jagat Prakash Nadda on Friday sought report from Punjab government over the blinding of 16 people in an eye camp. As many as 16 patients lost their eyesight after a doctor used suspected infected equipment at a free eye surgery camp, organised by a NGO in Gurdaspur district. Nadda assured Punjab government to render any help from the central government. Reacting over the incident, state Medical Education Minister Anil Joshi said that organisers had no permission to conduct an eye camp. Meanwhile, the Punjab health department has constituted a medical team to record the statement of victims in hospital in northern Amritsar city.
