Driving Naari Programme launched in Chandigarh
Chandigarh, The Punjab government today issued directions to all the deputy commissioners of the state to verify Old Age Pensioners as per the guidelines of Social Security department.
In a communiqué in this regard, DCs asked to tally the list of Old Age Pension beneficiaries with the voters’ list. It was also asked if name of any beneficiary was not found in the voter list or age below the prescribed age, the name of the beneficiary would be deleted from the pensioners list. The DCs were directed to submit complete report before December 15 to the Director social security.
It was also stated that updated voter lists would be provided to teams deputed by DCs by e-Governance mission. In this regard, district level officers, who will provide updated data of voters’ list with updated age of voters. Deputy Directors of the department have been deputed for monitoring of the verification in those districts where number of beneficiaries was more than 1 lakh or where post of District Social Security officers were lying vacant.
The instructions have also been issued to submit report in this regard before December 15 well in time.
