Ludhiana, During a special naka set up by the District Administration and Police near Phullanwal village on Pakhowal Road area last evening, a total of 63 vehicles were challaned. Vehicle of an MLA was also challaned as his son was using Amber coloured beacon on top of a Toyota Innova without any permission.
The special naka was set up under the supervision of Mr Anil Garg, district transport officer, ADCP (Traffic) Mr Gurdeep Singh and Inspector, Zone Incharge Traffic Gagandeep Singh Ghumman and other senior district administration and police department officials.Such special naka’s are being set up in different parts of the city on regular intervals. During the naka last evening, 63 vehicles, were challaned and 18 bottles of liquor were confiscated from a person.
Fake press stickers were removed from a car and a person claiming to be a press reporter was also challaned. Mr Gagandeep Singh Ghuman informed that a fine of Rs 20,000 was collected from violators. “Such special naka’s would be set up in different parts of the city on regular basis.” He said that their main aim is that people start following traffic rules.
