Modi govt is “right reactionary”: CPI

Ludhiana, Communist Party of India (CPI) former Secretary General A B Bardhan today described Prime Minister Narendra Modi led central government as “right reactionary.”
Bardhan said, “this government was inclined towards the privatisation of the public sector and is right reactionary”.

Addressing a rally organised by the Left parties here, Bardhan said that Modi was acting like a dictator and was not giving free hand to any of his ministers except finance minister Arun Jaitley.
The CPI leader said that the Left parties have always opposed the process of privatisation of Public Sector Units. He said that this policy could be disastrous for the country.
Attacking the Akali–BJP government in Punjab, Bardhan said that the government had handed over Punjab to various mafia groups including land mafia, drug mafia, transport and cable mafias.
He charged that they were looting the state by both hands. The future of the youth of Punjab, he said, was very bleak.

Bardhan later told reporters that “there is no question of joining hands with TMC or Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee to keep the BJP away. Mamata had herself brought the BJP in the state for personal gains. She is unstable, unpredictable and a personalised ruler who have converted the TMC into her own fiefdom.”

The CPI leader also said that she would not mind confabulating with the BJP also if required.
When asked the Left parties were shrinking in the country, he said that the other parties were exploiting the
people in the name of religion and caste.

He said that now serious organisational efforts were being made to consolidate and rejuvenate the party.
