Chandigarh, October 3 – The Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) today condemned the goondaism unleashed by Congress hoodlums who barged into the party’s election meeting in Gurdaspur today evening and resolved to take up the issue with the Election Commission.
Disclosing this, party spokesman Dr Daljit Singh Cheema said Congress hoodlums disrupted the SAD’s election meeting at Hanuman Chowk late this evening by raising slogans and even came up to the stage to capture it. “We have complained against this act to the Deputy Commissioner and will now make a representation before the EC also”, he said.
The Akali leader said such goondaism was intolerable in a democracy and urged the Election Commission to conduct an inquiry into the entire episode and to take action against the miscreants immediately.
