Chandigarh, The Punjab government has slightly amended the instructions on transfers of employees’. As per the amendment now those government employees who have two years left for their superannuation could not claim the immunity from transfer.
Disclosing this here today an official spokesperson of the Personnel Department (Personnel Policies-2- Branch) said that this recent amendment has given mandate to the Administrative Heads to transfer those employees who are going to retire within two year. He said that earlier administrative heads were prohibited to transfer such employees who have only two year left in government service. The spokesperson said that this decision has been taken after in-depth deliberation at higher level. This action is aimed at bringing more transparency in the transfers and to upgrade the working of the government machinery.
He said the other instructions in this regard would remain the same as was circulated in the notification issued on June 17, 2014. He said that only that sub section of the earlier instructions has been stuck off, which reads as “any employee due for retirement in two years should not be transferred for the station he was working on.
