Chandigarh, Animal Husbandry, Fisheries and Dairy Development Minister Mr. Gulzar Singh Ranike today announced the schedule for district level livestock and milching championship 2014. He said that after giving consent by Chief Minister S. Parkash Singh Badal, Rs. 4.40 crore has been released by the Punjab Government.
Divulging the details, Mr. Ranike said that to promote livestock breeding, horse breeding and equestrian sports, the Department of Animal Husbandry, Punjab is going to organize National Livestock Championship– 2014 and all districts of the state has been divided in two groups. First competition would be held at Jalandhar & Faridkot on November 17-18.
He said that similarly District Level Livestock Championship would be held in Mohali and Mansa (November 20-21), Taran Taaran and Bathinda (November 23-24), Roopnagar and (November 26-27), Gurdaspur and Sri Mukatsar Sahib (November 29-30), Nawanshehar and Sangrur (December 1-2), Amritsar and Fazilka (December 4-5), Hoshiarpur and Patiala (December 7-8), Kapurthala and Firozpur (December 10-11), Ludhiana and Fathegarh Sahib (December 13-14) and Pathankot & Moga on December 16-17.
Mr. Ranike further said that National livestock and milching championship 2014 would be organized in Guru Gobind Singh Stadium, Sri Mukatsar Sahib from January 8 to January 12, 2015. He said that Cows, Buffaloes, Bulls, Horses, riders, breeders, attendants/grooms/ferries would participation in National Livestock Championship– 2014.
