Pearson International Airport is gearing up for what is expected to be one of the busiest travel days of the year.
More than 100,000 people are expected to pass through the airport today as many escape the city for the holidays.
Speaking to CP24 on Tuesday morning, Shabeen Hanifa, a spokesperson for the Greater Toronto Airports Authority, reminded travellers to be prepared for the higher volume of traffic today.
You want to make sure you check in online if possible,” she said.
“Track your flight. There are lots of things going on… so it is always good to check in with us, make sure your flight is going when you think it is going.”
She said travellers who want to be extra prepared can actually reserve parking at the airport ahead of time online.
People were also reminded not to bring wrapped gifts in their carry-on luggage.
