Sunny Leone’s second film deals with a sensitive subject

Leone’s next, One Night Stand, will be her doosra with a female director Highlight: Pooja Bhatt directed her Bollywood debut flick, Jism 2 The title of Sunny Leone’s next film One Night Stand, may have a titillating title, but director Jasmine D’Souza says the subject is very sensitive.

“My film is based on the very sensitive topic of gender inequality. It is all about how society perceives a sexual subject differently for males and females. The film is quite contrary to what people think about one-night stands,” says Boss director Anthony D’Souza’s wife.

The model-turned-creative director-turned-filmmaker believes that the subject could only be handled better by a woman so she decided to helm the project instead of Tony. “After listening to the story by Bhavani Iyer, I thought I could handle it better,” she says.

And if there’s Sunny, there has to be skin show. “Sunny has a certain type of image and audiences too want to see her like that. You can figure out from the title itself that there will be a lot of skin show. But everything will be relevant to the script. We chose her because she fits the character to the hilt. Sunny is a complete opposite of what one sees her onscreen. She is a wonderful person to work with. The kind of values she has, is amazing,” says Jasmine, adding that the male lead will be decided in the next ten days.

There are very few successful female directors in the B-Town. Is she nervous? “I am not saying that my film will be different or nothing like this has ever been made before but I want to let my work speak. I believe in giving my 100 per cent, success or failure is a matter of fate. Let the audiences decide if my work should be appreciated or not,” she says.

Shooting for the film begins later this month.
