While globally it may appear as if Apple may be beating Samsung as far as the smartphone sales are concerned; it is a whole new ball game in India all together. E-commerce app Cashify recently published a report that suggests that the South Korean electronics giant has managed to sell more devices than Apple in India.
Samsung captures a total of 28.52 per cent of the Indian phone market, followed by Apple with its 14.87 per cent capture. On the third position was Motorola with approximately 10.75 per cent market share.
Samsung’s most successful model was its Galaxy Grand Duos I9082 occupying a total of 3.02 per cent market share. Motorola’s most sold model was its Moto-G with about 2.71 per cent market share. Moto-G was followed by Apple’s iPhone 5s with 2.34 per cent market share and OnePlus with 1.78 market share.
“With a minefield of flagship launches, the resale market picked up pace in the last few months as the number of people queuing up to trade their old smartphones with the latest market entrants went up significantly,” the report stated.
