* Committee constituted in each department to scan each
employee opting for extension
Chandigarh, The Punjab Government has partially amended instructions for giving extension to its employees upto the age of 60 and put a rider that any employee facing departmental inquiry/Criminal case or vigilance case would not be eligible for extension.
Disclosing this here today, an official spokesperson of the Finance Department (Personnel 2 branch) said that this decision has been taken to provide corruption free and transparent administration. He said that directions in this regard have been issued to the Administrative Secretaries of all the departments to prepare the list of all such employees such employees who are facing departmental inquiry/Criminal case or vigilance case and a committee under administrative secretary with director or head of department as member would take a call on the employee facing such charges well before his retirement for granting extension.
He said that the state government in the year 2012 has launched the scheme of granting extension of one year or two years after the age of superannuation of service i.e. 58 years. He said that the government has also decided to amend the notification issued on October 8, 2012 and instructions issued on January 22, 2013 to ensure that the tainted employees are not granted extension in service after 58 year of age.
