Expect some gridlock downtown tonight as Blue Jays fans flood into the core for the do-or-die American League wild-card game.
The Jays will host the Baltimore Orioles tonight at 8 p.m. and the winner of tonight’s matchup will move on to play the Texas Rangers in the American League Division Series.
An estimated 50,000 people will be in attendance at the Rogers Centre tonight and a number of road closures will be in place at the end of the game to help pedestrians and motorists leave the area.
The following road closures will be in place tonight:
Blue Jays Way will have a partial closure for southbound traffic from Front Street West to Navy Warf.
Bremner Boulevard will have a partial closure for eastbound traffic from Spadina Avenue to Rees Street
Bremner Boulevard will be completely closed for eastbound traffic from Rees Street to Lower Simcoe Street
Bremner Boulevard will also have a full closure in place for westbound traffic from Lower Simcoe Street to Navy Wharf.
Police are advising motorists to avoid the area near the Rogers Centre during the game and use alternative routes.
