Brampton:- A 60-year-old man has died after an industrial accident at a warehouse for clothing company GAP in Brampton on Tuesday morning.
Peel Regional Police Const. Mark Fischer said they were called to a warehouse and distribution centre belonging to GAP clothing company in the area of McLaughlin Road, south of Williams Parkway at 10:27 a.m.
A 60-year-old worker was killed on warehouse property, police said.
Paramedics said they were called to the scene but did not transport anyone.
The Ministry of Labour is investigating. They say the man was crushed while using a scissor lift.
GAP Public Relations director Heather Hopkins said the man was a contractor working at their warehouse.
“We want to extend our deepest condolences to the individual’s family. Safety is our top priority, and we are working closely with local law enforcement to investigate this incident.”
