Four Left Parties of Punjab protest and demanding immediate withdrawal of the black law

Chandigarh  – Four Left Parties of Punjab- CPI, CPI ( M ), CPM Punjab and CPI ( ML) continued their dharna and protest demonstrations action  programme for the second day today  demanding  immediate withdrawal of  the  black law “ Punjab Protection of Government and Private Property Damage Act – 2014 “ enacted by the Badal government and  for settlement of other burning demands of the working class.   Massive dharnas  and protest marches were organized today at Bathinda, Tarntaran, Moga, Nawanshahar and  Fatehgarh Sahib.  Thousands of labourers , peasants, youths, women and other working people  participated in these programmes.

State level and district level leaders addressed the gatherings. The State level leaders who addressed the meetings at various places include- Comrades Charan Singh Virdi, Kulwant Singh Sandhu, Dr Joginder Dayal(  Nawanshahar ), Raghunath Singh, Mangat Ram Pasla, Hardev Arshi ( Bathinda ),  Gurmesh Singh, Dr Satnam Singh Ajnala, Jagroop Singh  ( Moga )  Bhoop Chand Channo, Puran Chand, Amarnath ( Fatehgarh Sahib ) , Vijay Misra, Gurnam Singh Daud, Harbhajan Singh  ( Tarntaran ).

The leaders condemned Modi government for its pro corporate sector policies, attack on democracy , secular values  and  institutions . They alleged that mafias are controlling sand, gravel, transport and cable TV in Punjab with the direct support and patronage of the ruling party leaders including ministers. They also held the state government responsible for  drug smuggling which can  not be possible without the connivance of police and civil administration.  They declared that the Left Parties will not allow the Modi government and RSS to disturb  the communal harmony and will fight tooth and nail against their fascist tendencies.  The protest demonstrations at district level will continue upto 5th September, 2014 against anti people policies of the Badal government . Memorandums containing 15 point charter of demands was  also submitted to the State and Central governments through Deputy Commissioners at all the district headquarters.
