Amritsar, Two days after the Amritsar SAD leaders targeted former MP Navjot Singh Sidhu, his wife and Chief Parliamentary Secretary Dr Navjot Kaur Sidhu today said she had given each and every detail to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP president Amit Shah as to how she was being “meted out a raw deal” by the Akali Dal-led state government vis-à-vis development works in her Amritsar-East constituency.
Talking to mediapersons here today, Dr Sidhu said the Akalis should talk about the ground realities instead of resorting to blame game.
She said Deputy CM Sukhbir Badal had promised a grant of Rs 100 crore for her constituency, but didn’t release a single penny. She said, “There are around 28 issues of my Assembly segment that are hanging fire for no reason. These include even the issues related to the Health Department. Many of these don’t require a penny to be spent.”
She said she had been making rounds of the Food and Civil Supplies Department for issuing BPL cards in her segment, but they could not even identify the prospective beneficiaries under the scheme.
She also hit out at the government for failing to deliver on Shagun Scheme and old-age pension. “When you don’t have the money, why don’t you admit it?” she said.
