Ontario:A series of thunderstorms rattled through southern Ontario Sunday, causing damage in some areas and raining out outdoor events.
Environment Canada issued a severe thunderstorm watch Sunday morning for Hamilton, Oakville, Burlington, Brantford, Halton Hills, Milton, Mississauga, and Brampton, as well as areas west of the GTA stretching to Windsor.
Hamilton and Oakville were briefly under a severe thunderstorm warning.All watches and warnings ended by around 5:15 p.m. However here were some reports of damage following the storms.
In Burlington, police said several people had to be rescued after a few boats capsized due to storms. However no serious injuries were reported.
Bouts of heavy rain also rumbled through Toronto, sending attendees scrambling at the Field Trip music festival at Fort York and Garrison Common. Organizers said they were evacuating the site out of concern for safety, but were hopeful that programming might be able to resume later in the afternoon.
Some rainy weather could continue over the next few days, with a 30 per cent chance of showers Monday and a and a 40 per cent chance of showers on Tuesday.
