Deepika doesn’t like people calling Katrina a show piece

They may be arch rivals in professional and personal lives but that doesn’t stop them from standing up for each other.

Especially Deepika Padukone, who has time and again spoken out in support of Katrina, who was once blamed for Deepika’s break-up with Ranbir Kapoor.

Even recently in an interview to a Bollywood portal, the Finding Fanny actress jumped to Katrina’s defence questioning the very idea of calling her a show piece.

When asked that is how proud does she feel on not being treated as an eye candy, Deepika sought a reference to the question, when given the example of Katrina Kaif in Dhoom 3 and Jab tak Hai Jaan, she said, “According to her she has worked very hard no for the film (smiles). So how can you call her a show piece? I am trying to say the hard work and the effort is the same. Being a heroine is not easy at all. Every role has a lot of hard work.”

However, she did make a point that only character driver roles are remembered. “I can’t comment on other people’s choice of roles. Something I don’t like will be liked by somebody else. I have done films including my flop films like Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Se, Break K Baad, Lafangey Parindey they are all character driven film. People remember a character only if a film does well.”(sic)

Well, Deepika Padukone is sure setting the record straight about everything and she doesn’t mince words. Atta girl!
