Sonam Kapoor, whose Khoobsurat has received a pleasant response from both critics and at the box office, is currently basking in the glory of it all. In an interview to a daily, the actress said that she would want to play a veteran actress on screen. And her diva of choice is Waheeda Rehman.
Sonam said, “I think she’s had an amazing life. I would also be interested in playing Meena Kumari, who had so much drama in her life, and Madhubala. They died too young.”
The Raanjhanaa hitmaker went on to add, “We (Waheeda Rehman and I) worked together in Delhi 6 (2009). When I looked at her, I would feel, ‘Oh my God, she’s the same woman who was in Pyaasa (1957) and Guide (1965). She was the great filmmaker Guru Dutt’s muse.”
Well, we hope the opportunity to play her yesteryears’-actress of choice arrives soon for Sonam!
