Congress walks out of the Business advisory committee in protest: Channi

CLP-1

Chandigarh: The Punjab congress party today walked in protest from the business advisory committee meeting in Punjab Vidhan Sabha today. Stating this S Charanjit Singh Channi, chief of congress legislature party, said that we have given our dissenting note on the proceedings of the business advisory committee. We have demanded to extend the session by two days or increase the sittings so that important issues could be debated on the floor of the house but there was no assurance from the Honorable Speaker on this. We have also listed 13 core issues, which needed to be discussed. We have also demanded in the meeting that one representative from the congress party should be present when the ballot is being done for the questions from the members. This is has not happened in the last nine years. The SAD BJP is suppressing the voice of democracy by showing its majority in the business advisory committee also.

Channi further said that we had already given adjournment motion on the issue of SYL but the government is bringing a resolution on the same issue, which is not right and ethical. The Honorable Speaker should tell first that what happened to our adjournment motion, which was submitted two days back. He further said that we would participate in the budget discussion and governor address discussion.
