New Delhi: Virat Kohli has certainly been the most consistent batsman in the Indian team in all formats of the game, for last couple of years. But in the last away series that India played in England, he was all at sea, while facing the English seamers, especially Stuart Broad and Jimmy Anderson.
Known as the new run-machine of India, Kohli has a good opportunity to get his lost form back in the forthcoming series, on flat Indian tracks against average looking West Indian attack.
It would also be the last chance for 25-year-old to fine-tune his batting and work on his flaws, which were on display during the England tour, ahead of the all-important tour to Australia in December.
The confidence of the naturally attacking batsman was all time low in the last series India played. But the kind of player Kohli is, he would eyeing for a comeback in style.
The Delhi-lad would be craving for runs and it wouldn’t be a surprise if Kohli adds few more hundreds under his belt during the West Indies series, consisting five ODIs, one-off Twenety20 and three Tests, which will last for little over a month.
Most of the eyes would be on Kohli as the series is starting October 8. And as the ICC World Cup is a mere four months away, even MS Dhoni would want his prime batsman to be in form.
