CHANDIGARH, February 12: Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee president Capt Amarinder Singh today rubbished Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s charges against him over the circulation of his (Kejriwal’s) posters alongwith that of Jarnail Singh Bhindrawale. “Given the fact that he (Kejriwal) is a congenital and compulsive liar, I am not surprised over his backing out himself and blaming me for what his party has done”, he said.

“It is a classic case of running with the hare and hunting with the hounds”, the former Chief Minister said, adding, “first they (AAP) circulated posters asking people to celebrate Bhindrawale’s birthday and when it boomeranged on them, Kejriwal tried to back out in his characteristic fugitive manner he is well known about”.

Capt Amarinder dared the Aam Aadmi Party to lodge an FIR and get the matter investigated and if it (AAP) does not do so, he will get it done after the Congress forms the government in Punjab. “We will not allow them to play the double game of stealthily playing the extremist agenda and publicly denying it later”, he warned.

The PCC president asked Kejriwal if his party was really not behind these posters why did the AAP Punjab convenor, Sucha Singh Chhotepur back out from filing a complaint. “You have always tried to survive on rumours by first flashing a rumour and then backing out”, he told Kejriwal, while adding, “we are yet to hear any truth from you since you came into the public life”.

The former Chief Minister said, instead of crying and cribbing the AAP should have lodged an FIR under various sections of the cyber law. “But knowing well that the buck will stop at them, they are not going to do it”, he said, while adding, “but after Congress forms the government we will get the matter investigated and expose the culprits”.

Reiterating that AAP in Punjab was pursuing an extremely dangerous agenda of ultra left and ultra right extremism, Capt Amarinder said, the recent poster was part of their campaign strategy to mislead the young minds who were not aware of actual situation.

He warned Kejriwal against playing extremist and disruptive cards in Punjab. “I have told you earlier also, if you want to come to Punjab come as a democratic party, but for god’s sake don’t use disruptive and anarchic ways as Punjab cannot afford another dark era of violence and bloodshed”, he told the AAP, while pointing out, Kejriwal and his ilk from UP and Haryana have nothing to lose as it will be Punjab they will be setting on fire and themselves making a safe exit.
