Chandigarh, February 11, 2016- Slamming pseudo-secular forces including Congress, Aam Aadmi Party and Left parties, the BJP today said Rahul Gandhi, Arvind Kejriwal and the leftist leaders, by their discreet silence, were lending support to the anti-national activities of the students of JNU who were speaking against the nation.
BJP national secretary Tarun Chugh said that these parties and leaders had been lending support to anti-national elements as part of their appeasement policy.
He said, JNU had been providing shelter to naxalist elements, supporters of terrorism and has served as a refuge for students with anti-national mindset since decades.
Chugh alleged that the JNU students with naxalist bent of mind, in the name of a cultural event, have tried to eulogize Afzal Guru, the mastermind of attack on Indian Parliament and terrorist Maqbool Bhatt which amounts to an anti-national activity. Not only this, the students also talked about and raised slogans supporting independence for Kashmir, dividing India into parts and went on to wish that persons like Afzal Guru should be born to each and every family.
He said that the it was the height of anarchy and anti-nationalism that these students brazenly branded their weapons inside the JNU campus and threatened to kill the patriotic students related to Akhil Bhartiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP).
Chugh said that it is ironical that these students and their supporters claim that their act was a matter of freedom of speech and as such needs to be allowed and accepted.
The BJP national secretary said that under their policy of appeasement Rahul Gandhi, Arvind Kejriwal and various leaders of the left shed crocodile tears on other issues but have chose to remain mum on this issue of grave concern.
Chugh urged Home Minister Rajnath Singh, Minister for Human Resource development Smt. Samriti Irani and the JNU authorities to act immediately against these anti-national students and expose their political patrons.
