Chandigarh, Mr. Gulzar Singh Ranike, Minister for Animal Husbandry, Dairy Development and Fishery has appealed the peasantry of the state to make full use of subsidies given by the state government on subsidiary occupation like Poultry, Broiler Farm, Turkey Farm, Piggery and for domestication of cattle.
In an appeal generated today for the peasantry of the state, Mr. Ranike said that the Animal Husbandry Department under Poultry Capital Venture Fund Scheme is helping farmers to get subsidy for setting up of Poultry Farm from NABARD and the rest of amount as credit from Banks. He said that for the domestication of 100 pullets at home the chickens are provided on subsidy by the department. He said that for setting up of Broiler Farm, Chickens of ‘Chaabro’ breed are provided on much lesser rate by the department. These chickens gain weight at much faster pace.
The Minister further said that the department has also being provided attractive subsidies for Piggery and Goat Farming at the same time helping farmers to get loans from the banks. He said that the department has also set up a Farmers ‘call centre 0172-2726077. Farmers can get the technical information and knowledge from the experts of Animal Husbandry field from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m free of cost.
