Punjabi singer Balkar Sidhu joins Congress

CHANDIGARH, February 9: Famous Punjabi singer and a prominent Aam Aadmi Party leader Balkar Sidhu today joined the Congress in presence of Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee president Capt Amarinder Singh and other senior leaders of the party.

Swaran Singh, a retired District Food and Civil Supplies officer also joined the party today.

Welcoming him into the party fold, Capt Amarinder said, Sidhu’s joining the Congress will strengthen the party. He said, Sidhu was a popular singer with lot of fan following among the Punjabis and he can certainly make immense contribution.

Speaking on the occasion Balkar Sidhu said, the AAP had no longer remained the party of the common people as its leaders were availing all the privileges like other politicians. They have started behaving worse than the traditional politicians, he said.

He also announced that he will be approaching the court to ask the AAP to prove the allegations it had levelled against him over a year ago. He said, the AAP had not come out with any proof so far despite his consistently asking for it.

Sidhu said, he was glad to join the Congress under the leadership of Capt Amarinder and he will work as a loyal soldier of the party and will perform any role the party assigns to him.

Prominent among those present on the occasion included Tript Rajinder Singh Bajwa, Sukh Sarkaria, Balbir Sidhu, Gurpreet Kangar, Sher Singh Gagowal, PYC president Amarpreet Singh Laly, Khushbaj Jatana and others.
