Chandigarh, Senior Congress leader Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa has criticized the Jagmeet Singh Brar for his utterance against Congress party and PCC President Amarinder Singh.
“
It was unfortunate that a senior leader like Brar had broken the party discipline and criticised the party leadership” said Randhawa, who felt the outburst of Brar could be the result of his losing elections one after another as he may be feeling disheartened.
”He is frustrated, as he has lost his popularity and touch with the public. It’s because of his self centric approach, in which Brar had always portrayed himself as bigger than party”, said the Dera Baba Nanak MLA.
“What Brar is today is because of the Conrgess, which gave him high party positions despite his losses in elections. Brar cannot question others as he himself is responsible for the Goa poll defeat. And there are reports that he sold party tickets in Goa,” Randhawa said, demanding action against Brar.
Terming the Brar as opportunist, Randhawa reminded Brar about his past that how he had switched parties and changed his mentors. “Everyone knows that you backstabbed the then Congress leader CM Darbara Singh, never cooperated with the PCC President Beant Singh, and even questioned leadership of Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi”, said Congress leader asking Brar to do introspection, why he failed to emerge as Leader despite defeating Sukhbir Badal.
“Earlier he had demanded khalistan and then he had tore constitution of India” Randhawa said. Thus he has no ideology.
He termed the statement of Brar as provocative, well-calculated and malevolent, and said that the statement has came few days after he appreciated Aam Aadmi Party, which indicates that Brar has some ulterior motives behind issuing statements against party line.
He advised Brar to toe the party line and work to boost the party, as stand taken by Brar was “highly reprehensible, inexcusable and unfortunate,” coming at a time when the assembly elections were approaching and the need of the hour was to put up a united fight.
