Driving Naari Programme launched in Chandigarh
Chandigarh January 28: Shiromani Akali Dal president and Deputy Chief Minister S. Sukhbir Singh Badal announced that party will strengthen its cadres in the UT Chandigarh and contest MC elections with alliance partner BJP.
He was interacting with youth leaders at his resistance here today who have assembled in huge numbers to join the Shiromani Akali Dal. Party president said that Punjab government has gave due representation to the youth in various boards and corporations and constituted a State Youth Welfare Board to take care of their problems and devise futuristic plans.
Mr Badal said that SAD had already strengthened its youth Akali dal as well as its students wing – SOI in the state as well as Chandigarh & New Delhi including educational institutions.
Exhorting the youth to serve the nation as well as party he informed that SAD had already gave adequate representation to younger generation in distribution of party tickets during the assembly polls.
On the occasion Amit Sharma General Secretary Chandigarh Pradesh Congress and Dharmpal Prince president BSP youth wing today joined SAD along with their 600 hundred supporters.
Speaking on the occasion president Istri Akali Dal Chandigarh unit Nirmal Kaur Sekhon said that she has planned to hold a huge function of the party in the UT so as to activate the youngsters as well as istri Akali workers very soon. Among others present on the occasion included OSD to Deputy Chief Minister Punjab Mr. Charnjit Singh Brar, Secretary General and office Secretary of the Youth wing of the party Parminder Singh Brar.
