Driving Naari Programme launched in Chandigarh
Chandigarh, Senior Congress leader and MLA Sunil Jakhar today assailed Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal for laying foundation stones without any follow up action by way of implementation of the projects.
Talking to news persons here, he referred to the foundations stones of projects worth about Rs 200 crore by the Deputy Chief Minister including those in February 2014 in Barnala the work on which was still to start. He pointed out that on February 28, 2014 alone, foundation stone of Rs 103.89 crore sewerage and drinking water project was laid and today again projects worth Rs 85 crore had been announced. He said the implementation of the sewerage project was yet to be initiated.
Similarly, he asked whether tenders had been called for which foundation stones had been laid today.
He also pointed out that the beneficiaries were still to get enhanced old age pension that had been doubled from Rs 250 to Rs 500 per month. Similarly, daal was not being provided under the subsidised atta-daal scheme, he added.
