Congress terms Kambhoj, Khaira as rolling stones

CHANDIGARH,  The Punjab Congress today reiterated that the Aam Aadmi Party had become the dumping ground for the political deadwood in the state with rejected and worn out leaders from other parties, like Sukhpal Singh Khaira, Lt Col CD Kambhoj and Aman Arora, seeking political asylum there. “These leaders are like rolling stones which never gather any moss”, the Congress leaders said in a statement here today.

Reacting to the statements by Khaira and Kambhoj, senior party leaders and legislators including Sukhjinder Randhawa, Rana Gurjeet Singh, Kewal Singh Dhillon and Rana Gurmeet Singh Sodhi said that the two leaders should feel thankful to Capt Amarinder for terming them as political deadwood.

“Political deadwood is a decent definition for you as you are like traitors and rolling stones who can neither be loyal to anyone nor can settle down anywhere for long”, they asserted, while adding, “today you have joined the AAP and going by your history and character, tomorrow you may be with someone or something else depending on which way the wind blows”.

The Congress leaders pointed out, Kambhoj had betrayed the Bahujan Samaj Party which had appointed him as its state president to join Congress purely with a vested interest and in pursuit of power. He contested twice on the Congress ticket and was defeated twice. Similarly Khaira came from Akali Dal to join Congress and contested four times and lost three times.

“Khaira and Kambhoj typically exemplify the rolling stones which gather no moss”, the legislators, said adding, “earlier they tried to flow with the Congress and now they are trying to flow with the AAP and tomorrow they will for sure and certain flow with another wind only to get waylaid into political wilderness where they actually deserve to be”.
