TORONTO — Hydro One says some customers in central and northern Ontario may be without power Christmas Day and Boxing Day due to high winds that swept across the province on Thursday morning.
Hydro One says it’s dealing with about 415 outages across its distribution system that affected more than 97,000 customers.
Where safe, Hydro One says crews are working to restore power to more than nearly 39,000 customers still without service.
Hydro One says the areas affected by the outages include Huntsville, Parry Sound, Sudbury, Thunder Bay, Timmins, and Winchester.
The weather system moved into Quebec and knocked out power to nearly 80,000 customers by late Thursday night.
