EDUCATION MINISTERS SUMMONS TEACHERS WITH 8O TO 100 PERCENT RESULT FAILURE

LUDHIANA/CHANDIGARH, DECEMBER 22: With the view to upgrade the education standards in the government schools of the state, the Education Minister Dr. Daljit singh Cheema summoned 186 teachers/lecturers who have shown poor performance by delivering 80 to 100 percent result failure in board examinations of 10th and 12th standards. These teachers have been summoned on January 6, 2016 at head office Mohali for a brainstorming session wherein reasons for the result failure would be probed and ways and means would be suggested for the education reform.

Disclosing this here today in a press conference Dr. Cheema said that out of these 186 teachers/lecturers 32 teachers have shown worst result with 100 percent result failure in 10th and 12th examinations. Likewise the average result failure of 4 teachers is ranging between 95 to 99 percent, 15 teachers with average 90 to 94 percent result failure and average 80 to 89 percent students failed in their examinations taught by 135 teachers.

Dr. Cheema said that the department had sought online data of result of 10th and 12thstandards for the last five years. He said that based on data received a comprehensive data base has been prepared which has revealed the average result of each teachers/lecturers in the previous five years. He said that total 3017 teachers have delivered less than 50 percent result. He said that the teachers with worst result would be summoned in phased manner and a personal meeting with each teachers/lecturers would be held in to improve their performance.
