Punjab to honor punjabi player who had brought medal for country

Chandigarh, Punjab Chief Minister Mr. Parkash Singh Badal today felicitated the Indian Hockey team for bringing golden glory to the country by bagging the Gold Medal in the Asian Games.

In a congratulatory message to the winning Indian squad, the Chief Minister said that the Hockey team has made every Indian feel proud by registering a spectacular win in the Asiad, after sixteen years. He said that the Captain, coach, manager and every member of the Indian hockey team deserves applause for their outstanding performance. Mr. Badal said that this was a great moment for the Indian sports as the Indian Hockey team had made every Indian walk taller. “I hope that this win will go a long way in the regaining back the pristine glory of the national game of our country by inspiring our budding players to further excel in the game” added Mr. Badal.

Expressing solidarity with the boxer Sarita Devi, the Chief Minister said that every Indian was proud her as she fought like a tigress. “Sarita, you are our champion” he added.

Meanwhile, Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Sukhbir Singh Badal also congratulated the winning Indian squad for bagging gold medal by defeating its traditional rival Pakistan in the final match. Mr. Sukhbir Singh Badal also announced that the Punjab government would honor all the Punjabi players who had brought laurels for the country by winning medals in the Asian games.
