Chandigarh, The world has seen enough of the menace of war. Now is the time to promote peace throughout the globe and the onus to do this largely rests on the shoulders of the youth.
Expressing these views here today at the concluding day of the 9th international youth peace fest, Industry, Commerce and Technical Education Minister , Punjab, Madan Mohan Mittal said that hopefully the coming generation will see less and less of war and more and more of peace. He further said that festivals the present one go a long way in forging ties based on universal brotherhood, respect for each other’s culture and traditions.
The minister also congratulated the yuvsatta (an NGO empowering the youth for peace) and GGDSD College which organized the festival in league with many other organizations and ensured the participation of representatives from as many as 45 countries. Many themes like- one world one family, women empowerment, creating disabled friendly cities, SAARC unity and making people aware about greenery were debated and stressed upon.
