A 31-year-old man is currently undergoing surgery after a police-involved shooting in the Downsview neighbourhood Friday afternoon.
Police initially responded to an address on Coquette Road, near Jane Street and Sheppard Avenue, at around 3:20 p.m. for a report of a person with a knife.
Not long after arriving, there was an interaction outside the residence and the man was shot. Police told CP24 that the man had mixed prescription drugs with alcohol.
The victim was rushed to hospital with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries, according to paramedics.
Seven investigators and two forensic investigators have been assigned to investigate the incident.
