Badals have lead Punjab towards bankruptcy: Aam Aadmi Party

CHANDIGARH: The present Badal Government has lead the Punjab State towards bankruptcy and the state has gone from bad to worst in the last 10 years rule of SAD-BJP government. On the one hand the wealth of Badal family has increased many folds in previous years while the small scale businesses in the state have been forced to shut down. A huge number of business units have preferred to shift their bases to other states because of the interference of Badal family. The present scenario is that the government has not enough funds to run daily affairs of the state and the salaries of government servants have been stalled from many months. Aam Aadmi Party, Punjab has criticized the anti-people policies of Punjab Government.
After mortgaging almost all the important buildings in Punjab including PUDA Bhawan in Mohali, now it is the turn of jails in state and Widow Home where Father of Nation, Mahatma Gandhi visited, to use for the fund raising. As per the report of a National English Daily (Times Of India) the documents of Punjab government shows that Gandhi Vanita Ashram, Old DC/SSP Office in Jalandhar and Building of Public Works Department in Patiala have been mortgaged by Punjab Government to Bank of Baroda between the year 2013 and 2015 to support its subsidies and state welfare schemes.
In a Statement to Media, Aam Aadmi Party, Punjab took a strong notice of the move of Punjab Government to use building of National importance for raising funds to run the government. The Party spokesperson said that it is shameful that the Punjab Government is talking about turning State of Punjab into California but has no funds to fulfill the basic needs of its residents and using anti-People economic models to run the state. He said that promise of Chief Minister to rule Punjab as Maharaja Ranjit Singh is a joke and mere an eyewash.
Another site that is used for raising Rs. 400 crores is 11.28 acres land of Amritsar’s Old Men Hospital. It is very disturbing that priority of common people like health services are ignored and instead of building more hospitals and extending the health services, hospital buildings are used to make money by the Government. Apart from it Rs. 750 crores loan has been given to Government by Canara Bank against PUDA Enclave, Ludhiana, PUDA Enclave, Budhlada and Rajindra Colony, Patiala.
