Ludhiana, December 9: Punjab Deputy Chief Minister Mr Sukhbir Singh Badal today announced that the Shiromani Akali Dal would hold its mega rally at Patiala on December 15. He said that the Akali Dal rally would be a grand success and lakhs of people would be attending it.
Accompanied by Information & Public Relations Minister Mr Bikram Singh Majithia, the Deputy CM attended the Shagan ceremony of SGPC President Avtar Singh’s grandson at Gurudwara Sri Guru Singh Sabha, Model Town Extension, here today.
While speaking to media persons, the Deputy CM said the morale of Akali cadre is boosted with the successful holding of four Sadbhawna Rallies in the state. He said the kind of response the Akali Dal is getting in these rallies is a proof that the public has posed full faith in the able leadership of Chief Minister Mr Parkash Singh Badal.
Replying to a question on the possibility of “Maha Gathbandhan” on the lines of Bihar in Punjab by Congress, Mr Badal quipped that newly appointed Punjab Pradesh Congress president Capt Amarinder Singh is already having a “Maha Gathbandhan” with the hardliners and pro-Khalistan people as his congressmen have attended the Chabba congregation and endorsed its resolutions. He further said Capt Amarinder Singh and his close relative SAD (Amritsar) President Mr Simranjit Singh Maan are already in a “Maha Gathbandhan” for their own vested interests.
The Deputy CM was accompanied by Irrigation Minister Sharanjit Singh Dhillon, Advisor to CM Mahesh Inder Singh Grewal, MLA Manpreet Singh Ayali, former minister Hira Singh Gabria, Deputy Commissioner Rajat Agarwal, besides several others.
