Shiekh (Tarn Taran) December 2- Terming that Captain Amarinder Singh was habitual of misleading the people by making ‘false claims’, the Punjab Chief Minister Mr. Parkash Singh Badal today exhorted the people to not get swayed away by the malicious propaganda of the Lok Sabha MP from Amritsar.
Interacting with the media persons here during the Sangat Darshan program of Khadoor Sahib assembly segment here today, the Chief Minister said that it was on the record that Captain has always mislead the people by issuing baseless and out of context statements. He said that infact the reality was that the facts were in striking contrast with the statements issued the former Chief Minister. Mr. Badal said that ongoing massive development in the state coupled with several pro-poor welfare schemes reflect that the marvelous performance of SAD-BJP alliance but being ‘skeptical’ to all this, Captain was just beating the bush by repeatedly issuing irrelevant statements. “Captain’s claim regarding industrial development and financial crunch in the state were farce and far away from reality” he added.
Replying to another query, the Chief Minister welcomed the announcement made by Captain to form ‘Mahagathjod’ (Grand Alliance) of likeminded parties to counter alliance in the state. However, he said that due to unprecedented development works done by the state government such proposed efforts of Captain would hardly yield any results. Mr. Badal said that the popularity graph of SAD-BJP alliance government was all time high as it had dedicatedly worked for the peace, communal harmony, brotherhood and progress of the state and prosperity of its people.
On another query, the Chief Minister said that the state government had handed over the probe of Bargari incident to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) for the thorough investigation of the matter. He said that the central agency would get into the bottom of the case and expose the forces that were hell bent upon destroying the peace and progress of the state by pushing it back into black days. “However, I advice the opposition to refrain from politicizing this matter concerned with the peace and development of the state” added Mr. Badal.
Terming that SAD-BJP alliance was everlasting and firm, the Chief Minister said that people love this alliance because they have faith in the policy and program chalked out by them. He said that alliance was custodian of the interests of Punjabis and every effort would be made to secure the well being of residents of state at every cost.
Reiterating the firm commitment of the state government to stamp out the menace of curse from the state, the Chief Minister said that in order to fulfill this objective a network of drug de-addiction and rehabilitation centres have been set up across the state. He said that the state government had cut the supply line of drugs by taking a stringent action against the drug peddlers involved in this heinous crime.
Earlier addressing the gatherings during Sangat Darshan program in village Shahbajpur, Koharka, Manochahal and Shiekh, the Chief Minister said that Sangat Darshan programs have acted as a catalyst to give boost to development of the state on one hand and mitigate the woes of the general public on the other. Making a scathing attack on the state Congress leaders for opposing the Sangat Darshan program, he said that rather than serving the people the previous Chief Ministers of Congress have indulged in ‘maritime’ activities and were now resisting this pro-people move. However, Mr. Badal vowed to continue this program for ensuring the welfare of the people.
On the occasion, the Chief Minister said that Sangat Darshan was a flagship program of the state, whose sole motive was to give boost to development in the state by virtually bringing the government at the doorsteps of people. He said that there was no political agenda of this program as it was totally aimed at the welfare of the people. Mr. Badal said that no other state government in the country undertakes such a comprehensive exercise for welfare of the public.
