B.D.P.O’s instructed to visit villages twice in a week

Chandigarh,  The Punjab govt. today issued instructions to the Block Development and Panchayat Officers to visit the villages under their command area twice a week, on Tuesday and Thursday, to review the development works and submit their report to the higher authority.

Stating this here today Sikandar Singh Maluka, Rural Development and Panchayat Minister, Punjab said that the Punjab Govt. is committed to wholeheartedly implementing the development schemes meant for the villages, so that they do not lag behind. In this regard the role of Block Development and Panchayat Officers ( B.D.P.O.) assumed great significance.

He further said that even if they visit the villages under their command area just twice a week, they can solve many problems of the panchayats which are to be addressed at their level.

The Minister said instructions have been issued to all the Divisional Commissioners and Deputy Commissioners not to schedule any meeting with the Block Development and Panchayat Officers on Tuesday andThursday.
